5 Coolest Thing about iOS 8

It's going to be difficult to get an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus immediately, but you can get some of the new phones' cool features right now. On Wednesday, Apple's new operating system, iOS 8, is released to the public. iOS 8 is chock full of new features and it's available for the iPhone 4S and up for the sweet price of $0. Here's a small taste of what you'll get when you upgrade to iOS 8: 1. Easier Emailing Email is a lot simpler  with iOS 8. Before, if you swiped left on an email your only options were "More" and "Archive." Now, when you swipe left you'll be able to hit "More," "Flag" or "Trash." If you swipe right, you can "Mark as Unread." 2. Autocorrect Revolution Say goodbye to bad autocorrects  with the new QuickType feature. iOS 8 will recommend words as you type in iMessage or email. It will learn the kinds of things you usually type and try to imitate your style. 3. Voice Texts!

Android User: Be aware

How to spot “bad” apps that can take over your phone Malicious apps can hand criminals total control of your phone - allowing them to run up huge bills, or even steal your identity Are the apps on your smartphone what they seem? Security firm McAfee warned this week that cybercriminals have disguised malicious software as real-looking banking apps. Downloading such apps hands the “keys” to your bank account to criminals. Other malicious apps can hand criminals total control of your phone - allowing them to run up huge bills, or even steal your identity.  Even apps on Google’s Play Store aren’t always safe - in just one “purge” earlier this year, Google removed 60,000 malicious apps.  Cybercriminals adapt their attacks constantly - but there are a few clear signs that warn that an app is bad news.  If you're worried, security firms such as AVG, Norton and ESET offer free scanner apps (search on Google Play) which will tell you if your phone is infected.  The a

Portable Projector

Kickstand Projector :  Redefines the Portable Projector There are gadgets that we have been using for years that has not changed much in form although the internal hardware may have progressively been updated over the years. The portable projector is one of these items. The projector has slimmed down from the bulky and ugly box that weighs a ton to a svelte little box that is basically a smaller and less bulky version of the original. The  Bem Kickstand Projector  from  bēm wireless  takes the portable projector and reinvents the wheel, culminating in a design that is pure, simple and functional. If Apple made projectors, they will probably look a lot like the Bem Kickstand Projector. There are plenty of small sized and compact projectors on the market today. The Bem Kickstand Projector is not the smallest and neither is that its strong point. The beauty of the projector is how every part functions and incorporates into the overall design of the product. The stylish alumin

Blackberry Empathy

Blackberry Empathy For their sponsored project held by RIM Blackberry at the Art Center College of Design, designers Kiki and Daniel had to incorporate an interface that integrates human emotions with the concept of social networking. The result of this exercise was the Empathy concept. The phone is used in conjunction with a biometrics ring that is worn by the user to collect “emotional data”. Spec-wise it features a transparent OLED screen that becomes transparent when not in use and opaque during interaction. The front is all touch surface, while on the back there is a physical keyboard. As Daniel describes the interface: It is of course touch based and all the user’s connections are shown graphically so you can see who is connected to whom. Each contact has an avatar that is encompassed by two colored rings. The inner colored ring shows the contact’s previous emotional state, and the outer ring represents the contact’s current emotional state. It is important to show th

Portable Copy and Paste: Scanner and Printer in One

Conceptual ‘Copy & Paste’ Tool is a Portable Scanner and Printer In One Do you copy and paste stuff a lot when you’re on the computer? It simplifies a lot of tasks and doesn’t take more than few seconds to do if you’re familiar with the usual shortcuts. Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could somehow do the same in real life? That’s what the folks behind the Copy & Paste tool are envisioning with their concept design. It looks like one of those scanning guns that cashiers use to scan the code on the stuff that you’re buying. Only this time, you’re supposed to move the device over whatever it is you want to copy and paste. Pushing the button on the underside activates the scanner, while the button on top activates the printer. The handy device is, effectively, a scanner and printer that can print on any surface. It’s impressive in concept, but it remains to be seen whether this can actually be made from a manufacturer’s standpoint.  Source:[ 1 ][ 2 ]

SanDisk Ultra Fit Series USB 3.0 Flash Drive

SanDisk 64GB Ultra Fit Series USB 3.0 Flash Drive USB flash drives are great devices for transferring huge amounts of data from one computing device to another. Sometimes we ecen use our USB flash drives as a semi-permanent extra storage for our devices. However normal USB drives just sticks out too much and are not practival to be left of the USB port when you are transporting your laptop for example. The SanDisk 64GB Ultra Fit Series USB 3.0 Flash Drive on the other hand is about the size of a Bluetooth or RF USB receiver that often comes with a wireless mouse. Like the USB receiver, the SanDisk 64GB Ultra Fit Series drive has a very low profile and just sticks out slightly from the USB port. It sits securely and is unlikely to get damaged when transporting your laptop around with the drive still plugged in the USB port. USB 3.0 has read speeds of up to 130 MB/s and write speeds that are up to 10 times faster than the older USB 2.0 devices. USB 3.0 devices are also backwards compati

Moto 360

MOTO 360: Wearable Gadget It's been a long time coming. Despite its end of summer launch window, the Moto's curved stylings were enough to overshadow the first pair of Android Wear watches, the squared off, uninspired, cheap-looking  LG G Watch  and Samsung Gear Live . In the meantime, though, a second wave of Android  Wear watches  has already begun jockeying for attention (and disposable income). When a device is as sleek, futuristic and eye-catching as the Moto 360 you can do one of two things. Wear one under a shirt and suit so that you can easily peep at the circular smartwatch as and when you need to. This is the way all the Motorola execs do it - we didn't even notice many of them had the 360 on at first glance.  The second thing you can do is slyly turn your wrist around or pretend there's an itch on your arm so that you can bring the Moto into people's eyeline to get more attention. That's what we've been doing.  Because it look

Zero Ink Printer

ZINK Zero Ink Printer ZINK is a portable zero ink printer capable of printing photos directly from your smartphone. The secret of this ink and toner lacking printer is in the paper. ZINK Zero Ink Paper is a patented paper created by the company which, when heated by the device, activates the yellow, magenta and cyan colour-forming crystals embedded within the paper itself. The printer is operated by the ZINK Design & Print Studio app which allows you to center your images, add captions, and apply unique filters to enhance your photos. Once you are done editing, your images will print at a 2 inch by 3 inch size, at a 640 x 1224 dpi resolution, in less than one minute. Notably, the printer can output up to 20 prints before it needs to get recharged — which takes 1.5 hours and can be done using a micro USB adapter. Despite its small size, the ZINK produces photographs which are rich and vibrant in colour. The prints are also watermarked and resistant to fingerprints, dust, and sc

Sony’s - Hugging Camera Lets You Swap Out Lenses

Sony’s Latest Smartphone-Hugging Camera Lets You Swap Out Lenses Sony has never been afraid to get a little crazy. Over the years, the company has made  OLED displays you wear on your face, Luke Skywalker binoculars that record 3-D video, tablets that fold up into burritos, and car stereos that transform into Walkmen. At its most interesting, Sony makes products born out of a Willy Wonka/Dr. Seuss/The Jetsons brainstorm, except these products have names like WDX-RLXT1B instead of The Electrick Fizzlefozz. And now, like a gift from a parallel universe, there’s a new Sony product with pure sass coursing through its veins. The Sony ILCE-QX1 is a follow-up to last year’sQX10 and QX100 smartphone-mountable cameras, and this one has—get this—an interchangeable lens mount, a 20-megapixel APS-C sensor, and a pop-up flash. Like its fixed-lens predecessors, the QX1 comes with spring-loaded arms that latch onto the sides of your smartphone, connects to a mobile device via Wi-Fi, and ha
